Comfort Quilts
Hello Quilters,
Well. It looks like we will finally have an in person meeting for our guild members during the month of May 2022. It has been a long time since we have been able to get together physically as a quilting group. The Comfort Quilt ladies will be manning our table and we will have a limited number of kits available if anyone is looking for something to do on those rainy days during the spring and summer months. As we wind down another year, please return any completed kits to us. We always accept with appreciation any donations of fabric for scrappy quilt tops or to piece together for our quilt backings. We are also looking for any additional donations of gnomes that you have been working on or any orphan blocks that could be incorporated into one of our quilts. We hope that each of you will stop by our table, even just for a cheery hello and welcome back. A special thank-you goes out to Mary Crowe who has offered to lead the team for the coming year. I would also like to thank all the current team members who have agreed to continue to support the efforts of the Comfort Quilt activities so that as a guild we can support those in need in our community.
Your Comfort Quilt Team,
Cathy Pinelli, Mary Crowe, Diane Childerley, Colleen Dawson, Corinne Ethier, Karen, Rienau, Janet Shannon
Members are reminded to bring back books that have been on loan since the start of the pandemic.

Long Term Care Facilities Needs
A message from Janet Shannon who is on our Comfort Quilts committee.
She has indicated that there are long term care facilities that are in need of Fidget Quilts.
Using Fidget Blankets for Alzheimer’s or Dementia. One of the ways that individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia show anxiety or agitation is in their hands. They will begin to fidget, restlessly pulling at clothes or blankets, wringing their hands, or rubbing their hands together. Fidget blankets are one way to help restore calm.
